    Notes 
    • Ligterink noemde Hendrika ten Haken als zijn vrouw. Uit Wilterdink blijkt echter dat zij als dienstbode mee is gereisd. Janna Hendrika Meerdink wordt in corresp. van Eyck 1940-22/33 genoemd als echtgenote.

      Dit blijkt ook uit het feit dat zij op dezelfde dag lidmaat worden van de Christelijke Afgescheiden Gemeente te Winterswijk, en wel op 25 februari 1844. Ze vertrekken in 1847 naar Amerika.

    Passengers on the Phoenix.
    On November 21, 1847, the propeller Phoenix perished on Lake Michigan, a couple of miles off the shore from Sheboygan. About 250 people died and only 43 people survived. Most of the passengers were Dutch immigrants.
