Publications and websites

  • Amanda C. Pipkin’s book Dissenting Daughters: Reformed Women in the Dutch Republic 1572-1725 is now available.  It can be ordered via Amazon (affiliate link).
  • The new website Kranten en Foto’s uses artificial intelligence to link press photos to the pages in newspapers. Often, press photographers took many more photos than the ones that ended up in the newspaper. This website allows you to see the whole series.

Projects

  • The Central Bureau for Genealogy is looking for volunteers to index the personal record cards. The entire collection has been scanned and is now being indexed. The indexed images will make the ordering process faster and easier. Unfortunately, these cards will not become available online anytime soon.
  • The Deelen Airport museum is looking for volunteers to describe its photo collection.

Archives

  • The renovation of the Stadsarchief Breda, the municipal archives of Breda, is finished. Visitors are welcome again, by appointment via email.
  •  The Zeeuws Archief has extended their scanning-on-demand service to archives of the island of Schouwen-Duiveland. The functionality is available via the Zeeuws Archief website and Archieven.nl.
