Quick tip – Dutch Genealogical CD-ROMs and DVDs

The Historic Future Foundation has digitized numerous Dutch genealogical magazines and publications which are available on CD-ROM or DVD. Their digital publications include:

  • national magazines like Gens Nostra or the Nederlandsche Leeuw,
  • regional magazines like the Brabantse Leeuw and Taxandria.
  • year books by organizations like the Centraal Bureau voor Genealogie and Amstelodanum (Amsterdam historical society).
  • series about upper-class families like the Nederlands Adelsboek (Netherlands Nobility Book) and Nederlands Patriciaat (Netherlands Patriciate).
  • source publications from the Indische Genealogische Vereniging (Dutch East Indies Genealogical Society), Gelre (Gelderland historical Society) and Gelre (Gelderland historical society).

The publications are in PDF format, which can be searched full-text. I have most of their publications in my personal library and often use them for projects.

The magazines are in Dutch, but the website where you can order the publications is available in English. They accept credit card payments.
